VM Resource Calculator

The VM Resource Calculator estimates how many physical hosts you need to run a given set of virtual machines. Enter per-VM specifications — vCPU count, RAM, and storage — along with the total number of VMs, and the tool calculates aggregate resource demand. Then specify your host hardware profile (cores, RAM, local storage) and an overcommit ratio for CPU and memory to see how many hosts are required. The results include utilisation percentages and headroom warnings when you approach capacity limits. Use this when sizing a new cluster, validating a vendor quote, or planning a migration from physical to virtual infrastructure. The calculator supports N+1 redundancy modelling so you can ensure failover capacity. Everything runs locally in the browser; your workload data stays private and is never transmitted.
